Slow at first—
then screaming through the headphones
like a cheetah on the hunt.
It had a voice like the most beautiful thing
on earth.
Every emotion was craftily portrayed
as though they knew every one intimately.
I closed my eyes and
submitted to the pleasures that
drifted through my brain.
I have been preyed upon: caught by
the pulsing, hypnotic rhythms
of this newly discovered obsession.

This turn of the table, it leaves you on top,
turning these cool cats to desperate strays
leaving you lovey compliments to lap up.
Linger in the words that make your body glow,
the single life leaves you so much to know.

drunk off of cheap champagne and
sprawled on the floor of
your giant living room-
"What a night" you said and
you cupped my chin in your hand.
I started to reply but my mouth had
a better idea so we
fumbled with the idea of making out but
my eyes saw two of you and
that was just too much to handle.
I backed away and you begged me to stay
so there we lay in
our own little world and then
you made me see stars
on your ceiling.
